Rounding up my 2024 beauty favorites—staples and newbies alike—and why they earned this very important real estate on my Substack.
Esse Mist
I discovered this brand during a facial with Nichola Joss at Lefay Spa this summer. Esse focuses on “microbiome skincare,” and I’ve tried the mist, serum, and face scrub—all excellent. But the mist stands out as a must-have for me: hydrating, calming, refreshing, and it just feels balancing. Because it’s so clean and focused on the biome, I really think it’s a universal product. I spray it on after I wash my face as the first step of my routine.
Agent Nateur Acid Wash Cleanser
I’ve been using this cleanser for years but got back into it in 2024. My face feels SO good after this—lactic acid gently exfoliates without stripping the skin.
DP Hue Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Masque
I don’t know about you, but I need a thick hair mask—those conditioner-like masks just don’t cut it for me. This one has a rich texture and smells amazing (don’t let the apple cider vinegar in the name fool you). I use it from my scalp to the ends. Yes, I know putting a mask on your scalp goes against the rules, but my scalp has been super flaky lately, so I’m keeping it extra moisturized—and this one doesn’t irritate it at all.
Korean Masks
These are a fridge staple for me. They’re soothing, and hydrating. I use them at least once a week, sometimes more.
Hypochlorous Acid
The ultimate do-it-all product—I’m never without it. I keep a mini spray bottle with me when I travel. This is my go-to for literally everything: acne, rosacea, burns... you name it.
Yes, I’m still trying to convince you that you need this LED panel (full post HERE). I use it every single day—how could it not make the roundup?
Dr. Dennis Gross Pads
I know I’ve talked about these way too much, but they’re truly one of the few products that can transform your skin overnight. Trust me on this one.
P50
A forever staple. I’ve been using it for years, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. I also regularly get facials at their spa, and I tried the new Boston location this year—it was great!
Crown Affair: Towel, Clips and Leave-In Conditioner.
So you’re going to get this set (great value!) and then these clips.
To say this changed my life wouldn’t be an exaggeration. I follow Diana (the founder’s) method: apply leave-in conditioner, then twist your hair into four sections—the “twist and clip,” as she calls it. Sometimes my hair looks a little poufy on day one, but by day two, it’s perfect—all without heat. I never thought I could air-dry my hair like this before.
Agent Nateur Collagen
A staple but this year I became more consistent with the daily habit and noticed a difference in my hair, skin and nail health. This is the Hermès of collagen—a bestseller at Erewhon and an absolute hot-girl staple. Take it consistently and I promise it will change your hair, skin and nails.
Patrick Ta Blushes
The hype is real. I know everyone came out with a blush this year, but this duo stands out. It’s cream and powder in one, and the colors are perfect. The packaging is a little tricky to open (or maybe that’s just me?), but it’s worth it. I have it in 4 shades!
